Starting in 2010, Small Business Saturday was set aside to support small businesses across the entire US. Nestled between Black Friday and Cyber Monday, American Express created this event to encourage consumers to to get out and shop local.
2017 shoppers spent $12.9 billion on 11/25/17 at independently owned businesses, estimating that 43% of all American adults either dined or shopped small that day.
Last year the WSDBA teamed up with Vegas Events and More and the City of Henderson Redevelopment Agency to bring you our first Shop Small Henderson. Expect bigger and better things in 2018.
Our vision is for Water Street to be lined with white and blue balloons, local merchants with tables and tents set up all along the way to the Henderson Events Plaza. At the plaza, you’ll find food trucks and other local crafters, artisans and businesses set up for the day. Santa will be on hand and we’ll be taking donations for Toys for Tots.
